mozoot-samsungSamsung has today announced and confirmed that they are rolling out with a volume bug fix for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus next week. A very good news for both the consumers and retail stores who have put on hold the selling of the device. There’s still no official date for the update but I guess one week is not a long time to wait for an update.

For those who don’t know, the bug involved the Galaxy Nexus adjusting the volume up and down by itself for no apparent reason and rendering the phone useless while this is happening.

Windows Phone in Russia to come with Yandex instead of Bing

Posted on November 29, 2011 with Comments Off

mozoot-yandexMicrosoft has announced that Windows Phones that will be released in Russia will come with the search engine Yandex instead of their home-brewed Bing. This is not a new move as we’ve seen phones and tablets dumping search engines and even social networks in exchange of a locally popular one.

We’ve seen some phones dumping Facebook in China in exchange of a locally popular social network which I can’t honestly recall. LOL.

Anyway, so that’s about it, if you live in Russia, then you can probably see Yandex strapped as the default search engine on your Windows Phone.

Apple has been reported to be talking to the government of Zimbabwe to be able to bring solar-powered iPad to rural schools in the country.

Supervised by the Zimbabwean ministry of Education, Sports, Arts and Culture, the merger will soon be able to hand over iPad units that can be charged through solar panels to students that are studying in rural areas around the country.

This plan is obviously to improve the level of education on remote schools. I think it’s a nice thing that Apple, whose known to steer clear of charity programs is now doing something to help the less fortunate countries.

It seems like the demand for the iPhone 4S is far from reaching its peak as Apple has now put up the unit as a “Reservation only” product. This means that you just can’t walk-in on an Apple store to get one but rather you need to reserve your device at least a day in advance.
On Apple’s website it reads: “iPhone 4S is available in store by reservation only. Reserve yours after 9:00 p.m. tonight for pickup tomorrow. When you come in, you’ll choose a carrier and plan, and we’ll get your iPhone up and running before you leave the store.”
I just hope Apple catches up to the demand real soon.
